Credit Score too low??  Here is how you fix that!

Open three credit cards for things that you use on a regular basis, like a gas card for instance.  Maybe one or two at your favorite stores.  If you cannot get approved for a credit card, start by opening up a Secured Credit Card at your bank.  You put a certain amount of money in an account that is used as your ‘credit card’.  But with that new account, you can easily get the accounts I mention above.

Use these cards ONLY for purchases you would already be making, like paying for your gas, or buying essential items for home.

THEN, and this is the important part — pay 100% of this new credit card every month!  This is the key.  Even if you charge only $15/month, pay it in full EVERY month.

You will see your credit score skyrocket in no time at all.

By the way, Credit Karma is a free service that allows you to track your credit score, as well as showing you possible options for new cards.

The trick is to not get sucked into the habit of using credit cards.  You simply want to do this for about 3-6 months to increase your credit score.  Then either put away those cards or keep up this new way of using credit cards.  Only charge what you normally would spend, and then pay it off in full every month.  Some credit cards have earning potential, like TJMaxx for instance.  When you spend money using your TJMaxx card, you will get certificates in the mail to use toward your next purchase.  So, this can even be a fun game while you are cleaning up your credit score!

Do Well, and Look Good when you need to show your credit score!!!
