SAY YES TO CLEARWATER?

SAY NO TO CLEARWATER?

If you are like me, you care about your City and want amazing improvements to happen.  But when I saw a huge green sign go up across the street from my office that read:  SAY YES TO CLEARWATER, I immediately had two thoughts.

So I went to the website and discovered something that I feel is a Trick, and definitely not a Treat!  It is a very misleading sign!

As Residents of the City of Clearwater we have previously voted on the fact that we wanted the Coachman Park/old Harborview building/Bluff area to be park area so that we can all enjoy the waterfront and a gorgeous park area that is a venue for events and just a great place to enjoy.

Since we voted yes on this, it became part of the City’s Charter that this land would be used to benefit all residents.

Well, if we vote yes now, we are giving the City officials the right to CHANGE THE CITY’S CHARTER and allow the City to sell two portions of this property to huge developers that want to build two huge skyscrapers.

JUST HOW DOES THIS HELP CLEARWATER?  It helps the developers make a ton of money, the City makes money, but how exactly does this help the citizens of Clearwater???  I just cannot figure that part out!!

Another piece of information that I have learned is that these huge buildings will only allow ONE parking place per resident, therefore creating an even larger parking problem in the downtown area.

As a Real Estate Broker for more than 33 years, I take pride in my City and love when I help people relocate here.

BUT, this is NOT something that I feel is good for our City.  I am VOTING NO TO CLEARWATER and I hope you will research this for yourselves, so that you can make an informed decision for yourselves!

Remember – YOUR VOTE COUNTS!  Please get out and vote in Nov. 8!
